Outdoor Gear Brands

How the outdoor gear brands are listed

Here's the thing. A brand list is only useful if it plays fair, so this one has three rules.

• Section first. Each brand sits in the section where most of its products live: Archery & Bowhunting, Blinds & Tree Stands, Trail Cameras & Optics, Knives & Tools, Fire & Lighting, or Camp Gear.
• A to Z inside a section. The order is the alphabet. It isn't sales, size, reputation or which maker we'd rather talk about.
• Same treatment for everybody. Every brand page is built the same way: what the maker sells on Amazon US, the specs the maker publishes, and the type pages where those products show up.

Each card shows how many of that brand's products are currently on Amazon US and the kinds of gear they are. Availability is checked every week, so a count can move between visits.

Full pages and short cards

A linked card opens the brand's own page. That page puts the maker's products first, in a grid, with the specs we could confirm and a note on where each value came from. If a brand has nothing on Amazon US right now, its page says so in the first line and shows similar products from other makers.

A card without a link has no page behind it. Some of those are brands with only a handful of products in our data; others are waiting their turn, because new brand pages go up a couple at a time each week. Either way, their products still turn up in the tables on the type and best-of pages, where they're judged by the same written rules as everyone else.

How to use this page

If you already know the maker, find its section and run down the alphabet. If you know the gear but not the maker, start from the section page instead; the type pages there list every brand that makes that kind of product, side by side.

Rule of thumb: pick the type of gear first, then the brand. A tree saddle and a ladder stand solve different problems, and no name on the box changes that. Measure twice, buy once.
